Tagged Again, An Awesome Giveaway, and maybe a little Sunday Rambling

Happy Sunday folks!! Well I got tagged in that question game again so I actually have an excuse to blog today.

Before I do that I wanted to encourage you all to go and check out the http://brittanyjohnson87.blogspot.com/2010/09/giveaway-time.html is doing. I really hope I win becase I would get to pick a piece of jewlery (vup to $20 value) from Barberry and Lace (Leigh Ashley's fantastic jewley etsy shop). I already have one necklace from her store and I love it. It hardly leaves my neck so of course I want another piece. Maybe another necklace or a ring. Hmm the choices. Go check the giveaway out!!

Wishing Tree Necklace

She has a bunch of awesome rings like this one.

Oh so http://oisme.blogspot.com/ tagged me on this 8 question thingy (this is my 3rd time being tagged)..

{ one } Are you capable of any stupid human tricks (you know, like my Seagull Impersonation, or weird elbows)? Describe, take a picture, or vlog it!

I don't think so. I do such good howling that i get my dog going crazy. Maybe I will take a video of it eventually. I don't know how much of a trick it is but I do know I look pretty stupid doing it
{ two } What is one thing you are absolutely friggin' OCD about that everyone else thinks is ridiculous? Details!

Well I would probably say the thing I am the wost with OCD is my computer and how I have my documents and mail organized. Everything has to have a place and I freak out if there are things in my work inbox that arent catergorized. I even organize my personal files. Like my recipes and football stuff have a file. I spend the last 30 minuts at work organizing and reorganizing everything
{ three } If you could have any talent or ability, what do you wish it could be (not to be confused with superpowers) and why?

I would want to be a great singer. I am just jealous of all the people that sing well. My boyfriend is a fantastic singer and one of my friends is as well. I wish I had some musical talent (especially singing) because I feel it would set me apart and then I could even be ina  band maybe.

{ four } Who was your celebrity pre-teen/teenage crush? You know you had one!

Come on he was a cutie

I loved JTT of course... Johnathon Taylor Thomas. I also was big into the boy bands. I loved Justin and JC fron *Nsync (Maybe I just liked guys with J names).

{ five } Honestly, how much do you sing in the car? And do you care if people are watching? Furthermore, what do you like to sing in the car?

I sing a lot in the car (I think this goes with I wish I was a good singer). Especially when me and Britt (my co-worker) are driving home from work. We are singing super loud and we dont care who looks at us. Usually I sing the songs that are on the top 40 stations. I also like to sing rock songs when i am by myself.
{ six } How long have you gone without a shower/bath? And what was your reason? You're gross.

I think prbably 3 days and I think its because we were camping and the showers broke so I couldnt really shower. Yah I know gross eh?
{ seven } Name one food that you could literally eat every single day for the rest of your life.

OR Pita Chips and Hummus

{ eight } It's exactly three months until Christmas! What is your favorite Christmas TV special or movie?

I LOVE The Christmas Story. That is one I def. make sure I watch every year. But usually Ill watch it on Thanksgiving.

I am not going to tag anyone individually because I am lazy (sorry) but I do want you all to do it! So leave me a comment and let me know if you did the 8 questions I listed below

My Questions
1. Name a Drink after You. What would be in it? What would it taste like?
2. If you had to give up one thing for the rest of your life that you usually do what would it be?
3. What's the longest you have gone without sleep? Why?
4. What would you describe your decorating style as? Share a picture of your favorite room in your house.
5. If you were going to meet your idol what outfit would you wear?
6. What is the dumbest thing you have ever done?
7. What is the first thing you do when you come home from work? (or if you don't work what is the first thing you do when you wake up?)
8. What is the most important lesson you learned from your parents

Well I have a slight hangover even though I didn't drink that much last night. I was drinking sugary drinks (note to self its not good to play 5 games of beer pong with Mike's Hard Lemonade). So I am going to just go watch football an not be on the computer because it hurts my head. Ill catch up on your blogs when I am slacking off at work tomorrow ;)

Its the Perfect Friday to Ditch Work and Go to the Beach...

...Too bad I did not do that. Instead I am at work hoping the day goes by pretty quickly. But seriously the weather is beautiful! Its not too hot and not too cold and it is sunny with a nice breeze. Can't get much more perfect than that.

Well its time for some Friday Oddities. So kick back with some Starbucks and a Bagel (well at least thats what I am doing) and enjoy the crazies.

Even Children are Affected by the Reccession

Children's pocket money in London are at a 7 year low. How sad! How are they going to buy their bubble gum and candy? Also does the London economists have nothing better to do than researching Children's allowance?

Wind could have parted Red Sea for Moses?

I found this article very interesting. I am not a religious person, you can call me spiritual if you would like. I was raised religious though and I know all of the various bible stories. I think it is interesting to see the various viewpoints on "miracles" and I find it really interesting that wind could part water in such a vivid way.

Full Moons...not just for Werewolves

In Belgium they are now producing Paix-Dieu, a beer that is harvested by the full moon. Supposidly the full moon brings out an excellent and rich taste and makes a top-notch beer. For all you beer lovers out there it goes on sale next month in Belgium. If you are able to get your hands on it send me a review!

Dumb Criminals of the Week-Bank Robbery Gone Wrong

These 2 Albanian men attempted to rob a bank by drilling into the vault from their business above the bank. I guess thats a good technique except they forgot that drills are LOUD. Here's their sign.

Day 14: Picture of You and Your Family

Aww an old picture. I think I was 5 in this picture. Look at my shoulder pads!!

I don't know if you can see it but my sister really hasn't changed much lol

Well I hope you all have a good weekend. :)

The stars have Realligned... NFL Week 2 Rundown. [Sports from Girl's POV]

Hola!! Its Thursday and that means its time for some Sports from a Girl's POV or really some NFL week 2 recaps and week 3 predictions. I did a very good job with last weeks predictions so lets see if I can keep it up!

Game Recaps:
Wow I did a good job with my predictions last week overall... Lets reflect back on those first
"Colts vs. Giants. The battle of the brothers. I love a little family rilvary... I'll pick the Colts to win"

Well did they ever win?!?! Seriously the Colts spanked the Giants like there was no tomorrow. It wasn't even a football game, it was a slaughtering. Maybe the Manning brothers got into a fight before the game and Peyton rallied his team to just kill the Giants. All I know was that the final score was 38-14 and that my friends is what we call a Blowout.
"Ravens vs. Bengals... I'll pick the Ravens to win but it is going to be a super tight game"

Well I wasn't right about the outcome (Bengals actually won 15-10) but I was right that it was a super tight game. It came down to the final minutes of the game. Both teams looked really good which was to be expected. These are some of the better quality teams in the AFC

San Diego Chargers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (38-13)
Tolbert after 1 of his 2 rushing TD

Yet another spanking. This one seriously was no contest either. I mean the score actually makes it seem closer than what the game portrayed. The Chargers were just back in fine form. Rivers looked exceptional and he was finally communicating with his recievers while getting protection from his line. Ryan Matthews (RB) looked good until he got injured but the key to the running game was actually Tolbert who was a beast! Gates was phenomal (like always) and our defense was actually playing. I am glad to see my boys back.

Some More Blow-Outs & Surprises

There were actually a couple of blowouts this weekend. Quite suprising. We had Atlanta slaughtering Arizona 41-7. Packers kicked the Bulls ass but thats not a huge suprise (34-7).

A couple of games this weekend shocked me as well.
  • The Raiders actually won? Well I mean they were playing the Rams though so it wasn't super suprising I guess. And I guess that can be one of the 6 wins for the season ( ;P lol sorry Bananas)
  • Detroit kept it very close with the Eagles.... Do the Eagles just suck or are the Lions becoming a good team?
  • Minnesota has started the season 0-2 with this week's loss to the Dolphins. Do you think they will get it together and turn it around or will it just be a bad season for them? I think they will win the next 6 in a row.
Best Game of Week 2: New England Patriots at New York Jets (14-28)

Of course I will stand by and say the Chargers game was the best one of the week but I will probably think that every week. This game was weird for me because I was rooting for the Pats. I hate hate the Pats but I guess I just had to choose the lesser of the two evils.

It was a hard fought game with both teams just playing really great offense. Sanchez threw some great passes and had 3 touchdowns for the game, Tomlinson actually looked pretty good but it most likely won't last, and their overall running game looked good. UGH!! I hate the Jets so I hate admitting that they looked really good but they did.

The Pats looked really good in the first half and Brady still had a great game but they just couldnt get on the same page in the second half and rally back. They had their chances but they let it slip away from them...

Predictions and Games to Watch: Week 3

Detroit vs. Minnesota: I said the Vikings will win their next 6 and I stick by that but I think once again the Lions will shock and keep it close. They will lose by no more than a touchdown.

SF vs. KC: I think the Chiefs will get their first loss of the season here. The Cheifs aren't good enough to keep winning and SF almost beat the Saints this past weekend.

NYJ vs. Miami Dolphins: I think this will be a hard fought game and I am hoping the Dolphins win this one. I will predict they do especially since they are coming off a win over the Vikings and will be at home.

Game to Watch: Wow none of the games look like they will be exceptional this week. Hmm Ill say that Atlanta Falcons vs. NO Saints should be good if Atlanta keeps playing well...

Well thats all for sports :) What about you? Did anything shock you last weekend? Do you have any predictions of your own.
Day 13: A Letter to Someone Who has Hurt you Recently

Dear Aimee:

Stop being so damn hard on yourself. You have to enjoy life more and stop thinking only about negatives all the time. Chin up and move on. Allow yourself to be fully happy, let down your guard, and enjoy life. You are your own worst enemy. Let go of the past and the high expectations and just start being who you want to be.

Love,
You

Yep I have hurt myself the most recently... Don't really have anyone else I feel I need to tell off.

Hope you have a very Happy Thursday!

Smack dab in the Middle... Wee Bit Wednesdays and Day 12

Hiya folks! Happy Wednesday... I hope you are all having a great day and starting to see the light at the end of this dark tunnel called weekdays. Every week I just can wait for Fridays. I guess that just proves how much I hate my job (that's a story for another day).

Yesterday I went home sick from work because I had a chi latte from Starbucks and they must have made it with bad milk because lets just say I was close friends with the porcelin God for half of yesterday. But now I am all better, YAY! and back to work, BOO!!

So how about some Wee Bit Wednesdays? But first...

Day 12: How you Found out About Blogs and Why you Made one

Well I think that my boyfriend (shameless plug of his blog) was the one that told me about blogger and he showed me our friends blog (another shameless plug) so I started reading theirs. Then from their blog I started discovering other blogs (mostly interior decorating ones at first). Then it became this obsession and I think I am an addict. Anyway I decide I was sorta stalker status since I didn't have a blog of my own so I started my own blog and thats how the crazy adventure began.

{one} what is your happiest childhood memory?

My parents were divorced when I was 11 and then they got remarried when I was in high school. I actually liked it when they were divorced because I got to see my dad more often (he was always a workaholic but them being divorced sorta forcd him to spend time with us). I lovd our weekends with him. We went to Dodger games, took day trips to LA and museums.
{two} what is your middle name?

I prefer not to say....
{three} what’s the habit you’re most proud of breaking?

Hmmm... I don't know if I really have broken any bad habbits. Let me work on that and ask me in 3 months.
{four} what do you order when you order chinese food?

I hardley ever eat Chinese food but if I do then Terrayki Chicken and Orange Chicken orSeasame Chicken.
{five} what’s the best bargain you’ve ever found at a garage sale or thrift store?

Yet another hard question. I like swap meets!! I found really good deals at some swap meets. I bought my friend a pair of converse for $15. I want to go down to SD to their HUGE swap meet and buy some jerseys. Did I even answer the question?
{six} what’s the best costume you’ve ever worn?

I dressed up as an alien when I was 11 with 2 of my friends. We had fantastic homemade outfits made from alumunium foil. I also was a punk rock Tinkerbell my sophmore year of College. I wanted to be Tinkerbell but al the costumes were too big so I had to saftey pin it... So I used 40 saftey pins and wore leggings underneath.
{seven} who’s your favorite game show host?

I like old time Game Shows. My favorite was Richard (forgot last name)... He was the original host for Family Feud. He was also on Match Game.
{eight} what’s your favorite breakfast food?

French Toast
{nine} what’s your least favorite word?

Hmmm I don't like the word Cun*... I don't know what else

{ten} describe something that happened to you for which you have no explanation.

Hmm I don't know. I think I have a guardian angel or something. I always have weird feelings about things, usually about driving or leaving. I listen to my gut when it tells me to take longer to get ready or make a turn I normally wouldn't take or just not go somewhere at all. I have on multiple occassions missed major accidents when I listen to my gut. The one time I didnt listen to my gut we got into an accident.

Day 11.... Walk Down Memory Lane

SO I decided that with todays 30 day journal entry I will attempt to walk you down memory lane with my pictures... You will notice I have changed my hair quite often just over the last 4 years. I tried to get a wide variety of years but I realized that some years I didn't take very many photos or if I did I dont have access to them any longer. Enjoy!! (WARNING: Picture Overload!!)

BTW I am sorry I have been slacking on reading your blogs as of late. Things are going a bit rough for me at work and I am trying tio figure stuff out. Oh and I decided Im not going to do Tuesday's Features... I actually didn't like doing them so they go bye bye!

I may be related to the Sloth

Blah! Its Monday and obviously I don't want it to be. Yet another work week and hopefully this one is better than the last.

Source
So I am here to tell you that I feel that I may be related to the sloth because:

  • I am super lazy... I mean it. I never clean up after myself. I come home and plop myself on the couch and don't do any of my responsibilities
  • I like to sleep a lot. So much so that I even slept in today and was super late to my carpool. Bad Aimee
  • Ask my boyfriend and he will agree I am lazy!! I don't workout, I don't do chores, I don't really do anything useful. I am a lazy sloth
I am hoping to change my sloth like behaviors this week drastically so wish me luck as I start my 1000th attempt at not being lazy. Hopefully this one will work.

Weekend Recap

Well I did take some pictures this weekend but I of course forget to charge my battery so I can't upload them at work. They are not any great ones anyway because its not like I did much this weekend anyway. But I will try to put some up tomorrow :)

Friday: I literally did nothing! However, that is exactly what I wanted. I mean Wednesday I went out to karoke and didn't get home until 1 and Thursday I didn't get home till 1:45 so I was pooped by the time Friday rolled around. So I slept and Kevin cleaned the whole house. (me=sloth) Yes, I am lucky to have him.

Saturday: During the day I went to the aquariam with Chey, her husband, and her little daughter. They were having a Native American celebration so there were a lot of dancers, singers, and storytellers. It was pretty cool. I got in for free which is good because the aquariam is not worth the ridiculous admission price.

I touched this little guy.

I did get to touch some sharks and sting rays which was pretty cool. It was a good experience. We then went over and ate at Sharkeez and even though I have heard good things about it....I didn't like it. Maybe I am too hard on tacos but it was all just too bland.

When I got home I semi-helped Kevin with the organizing of the closet and half assed washed the floors (because I am a sloth). I then took PeeWee out for a bit and then sat on the couch for the rest of the night. Yep I didn't do anything Saturday night either.

Sunday: Football Day!! I was soooo pissed off that the Charger game was blacked out even on the NFL Sunday Ticket channels. It blew. I don't agree with that rule about having to sell out in order to watch the game. Sure ban it on local TV but people pay good money for Sunday Ticket or go to bars specifically for the Sunday Ticket. Qualcomm Stadium (where the Chargers play) has more seats than the majority of the NFL stadiumsso selling out there is harder than most. We did get to watch most of the touchdowns because we had our bartender put on the redzone channel (which is the best channel ever)

We were just at the bar for the afternoon games. I ate a lot of buffalo wings and I had a huge Mud Pie to myself. Yep, i was a fatty for the day. The Chargers slaughtered the Jaguars (38-13) and most of the other games came out the way I predicted so yay for me!

Well that was my weekend. I know sounds like such an exciting weekend eh. Don't be jealous ok? :) Well I hope you all had a great weekend... What did you do?

Sunday, September 19, 2010

Is today a Holiday?

Happy Sunday!! You all know what I will be doing all day today (and what I am currently doing)...That's right I will be watching football all day! Im sad though because I will be missing the night game because I have a meeting I have to go to.

Oh so last night I couldnt fall asleep because I felt like today was a holiday. You know that exciting feeling you get before Christmas? That's what I was having last night... Im still trying to get use to NFL being here finally... Woot! Ok well I am off to get ready to leave for the sports bar.

This is what I will most likely be drinking today

Well I hope that you all had a great weekend. I kind of had a laidback weekend which you all will be able to read about tomorrow :). For now, I leave you with my 30 day journal entry.

Day 10- Songs you listen to when you are Happy, Sad, Bored, Hyped, Mad

Happy: I listen to anything and everything when I am happy. If I am on my way out or getting ready to go out then I listen to top hits. I also tend to listen to alternative rock a lot. My favorites are Lady Gaga, STP, and new Pearl Jam

Sad: I have realized salsa and merengue music cheer me up. Elvis Crespo "Sera tu Sonrisa" is the best

Bored: A little country or Lady Gaga... Or Blink 182

Hyped: This is definitly all the shitty top hits lol. I am guilty. Rhiana, Beyonce, Ke$ha, Jay Z, and anything else played on KIIS or Amp.

Mad: Loud rock music., Screamo,... I use to listen to Aiden and Bad Religion when I got mad.

Don't Forget to Check Out Tuesday's Feature tab at the top and come back on Tuesday to link up!!

P.S. Dear Brett Favre/Minnesota: Can you both stop sucking and play better. Really an interception and no touchdowns yet? And letting Miami storm down the field every drive? Hello, don't you understand that you guys are letting down my fantasy football teams? I have Favre as a QB in one of my leagues and Minn defense in another... I am disappointed thus far.

Shake your Bon Bon..... Day 9

Hiya folks!! So I know its Friday and Im suppose to entertain y'all with the odd news stories of the week. However, I had a very fun evening last night and wanted to share it with all of you. I can't promise that I will remember to do a short odd news story post but I'll try...If I don't get to it then get your fix here

Oh before I forget to celebrate.... I WON A GIVEAWAY!! That's my first one I have won and it is the awesome chocolte spa bath products and pilsbury sweet dessert from Vic @ Freckles & Fudge. How exciting right?

Last night was a lot of fun. First me and Kevin went out to this nice restaurant (Manhattan Steak & Seafood). We sat in the wine cellar room which was beautiful. It was one of the nicer restaurants I have been to. It was nice to have a date night with Kevin especially since the last couple of days we haven't seen much of each other. We had a 3 course dinner and had a bottle of wine (Chardonnay). The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was lovely as well.

I wore a black dress, black peep toe heels, and a new necklace.
Excuse the quality I am still trying to play around with photo editing

Kevin wore a pin strip suit with a coral shirt. Isn't he handsome?
Sorry Kevin for not clearing this before I posted it

Deciding if I wanted to order a Martini

I think Kevin was telling an enthralling story ;)

So of course I didn't get a picture of the two of us... But I think these are 2 cute black & white photos of us.

This is Kevin's favorite of the two wine glass ones.
What do you guys think? Which is better?
Rasberry Vinaigrette Salad with Walnuts

Filet Mignoin with Mashed Potatoes and Aspargus.
It was really good. Its not Maderas (our favorite steakhouse) but it still was yummy

My favorite part was the dessert, Creme Brulee. This was really tasty!!

We really had a good time. I liked this restaurant a lot. The food was good, not the best I have had but the service and the atmosphere made up for that.

After we left the restaurant Kevin dropped me off at my hookah lounge because they were having a "club night" with go go dancers and everything. I met 2 of my "sisters" there (AM and Skylar) along with Skylar's boyfriend (Andrew). The attire was "club attire" but a lot of people weren't dressed up at all. Seriously with ripped jeans, tank top, and flip flops. Hello they said "dress to impress".

I was suprised that these girls weren't wearing sweats... It was that bad.

We had a ton of fun nonetheless. It was the best of both worlds, relaxing when we wanted to just enjoy our hookah. Fun and upbeat when we went to the dancefloor. We did a lot of dancing. The go go dancers were hot of course and they were playing excellent music.

Skylar, AM, and me.

I am glad my friends convinced me to go along with some pushing from Kevin. Even though I was exhausted this morning since I didnt get home until 1:45 am and had to be up at 7 am. But it was worth it,

Is it bad that I like this shirt?

Oh and since this isn't already long enough ;)
Day 9: Something you are Proud of in the Last Few Days

I went running yesterday. I haven't exercised in god knows how long. It was nice to just go running and feel like I am not a lazy bum. Even if I didn't go running very far or fast at least I got out.

Hope you all have a fantastic day and weekend!
