I got my Country Music Hating Boyfriend to wear a cowboy hat and come to Country Western Night! I'm that good ;)

Hello All!! I hope you had a fantastic weekend. For me this weekend was ridiculous and fun-filled. Pretty crazy actually all around. Today I am participating in Mingle Monday over at Life of Meg. You should check it out, great way to find new followers and new blogs to follow.

Friday Night:

So after work Kev and I met up with one of our couple friends at Dave & Buster. It was a lot of fun even though we ended up not playing any games. For some reason Kev was super tired so we just ate and drank some and then went home. I love the drinks at D&B because they make them very strong so you get a lot of bang for your buck. I had the Purple People Eater Martini and the Peach Long Island Ice Tea. Yummy. I also had some pretzel bites for dinner.

After we went home I was not tired and I was antsy to go out so I left the sleepy one at home and went out to Hookah. I met up with 2 of my chick friends Lori & Cathy. Also some of my other Hookah friends were there so we all just hung out and it was very chill. Cathy is a single girl who is a HUGE flirt and has no problem finding guys so she was having fun at that. As a girl in a long term committed relationship I often act as the wing woman. I try to do my best. Hookah was fun but I think I was more into the awesome sport plays they were showing on the tvs rather than all the other drama that was happening around us. I ended up getting home at 2 am which probably wasn't a good idea since I had to be up so early the next day.

Saturday

I don't know about you all but weekends are suppose to be my time without alarm clocks so I get kind of grumpy when I have to use an alarm clock, especially on a Saturday. But I had to be up early because I had to leave for San Diego at 8:15 am. It was well worth it since the trip was so much fun and I had a lot of fun with Chey and Mark.

First we went to one of the best breakfast restaurants I ever had. It was soooo yummy!!! I had French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon. My friend Chey told me I am more "mexican" than her because I put hot sauce on my eggs, it is soo yummy. The French Toast was the best! It was delicious and filling. After the restaurant we headed down to the museums. The first museum we went to was the History of Man. I found this one really interesting because it had a lot about the ancient civilization. The Mayans, Egyptians, other indian tribes. Upstairs it had exhibits on the evolution and genetics. I learned a lot of new things but one of the most interesting tidbits I learned is that we share 50% of our genes with a banana. Isnt that cool?

We then had to take a Frap break because Chey and I were crashing hard since we were both out so late the night before. That was one of the best Fraps I had too. SD never fails to amaze me though so I should expect it. The 2nd museum we went to was the Air & Space museum. We only went to the Alien Exhibit because it was getting late and we wanted to get out of Downtown before 5 pm to avoid traffic. The exhibit was very interesting. There were a lot of historic stories in there along with focus on all the movies that have been done about aliens. I really liked this exhibit because I like to learn about the super natural. The best part about our trip though were the random adventures we got into. Like when Chey decided to lead us down a "path" and it actually ended up being a super steep hill with leaves all over it. I was freaking out because I thought I was going to fall and also it looked like no one took this path ever because there were a ton of leaves on it. Also our little nature walks along the cactus trail and getting lost in downtown...damn those one way streets. We got back into town by 6:30 and I took a short nap because I was SUPER exhausted...

I had to be well rested because I was going to a country western night at my hookah place. I felt that my outfit was super cute and Kevin looked like a hunky cowboy too. I thought it was super funny to see Kev dressed up like a cowboy because if you knew my boyfriend you would not believe he was going to the country western night. The hookah place was A LOT of fun. It was me, Kevin, and my friend Rachel. We ended up line dancing to a couple of songs and I even learned a new (hard) dance to Cotton Eyed Joe... It was a really hard dance that took a lot of energy but I ended up picking it up. We also danced to the Cha Cha Slide, cupid shuffle, and did some salsa dancing to Suavemente. I also participated in a fashion show to compete for "Best dressed". I didn't win but I was in the top 3 which was great. All in all it was a fun night.

This was my outfit isnt it cute? I was wearing a jean miniskirt, black tank top with vest, and some gray boots. I also would sometimes steal Kevin's cowboy hat to complete the look.

He hates country music and really anything country so I thought it was so hilarious when he came home from Target wearing a cowboy hat. He does make a cute cowboy though ;)

Me and Rachel. This is post dancing hence why we look semi-sweaty.
Sunday

I made up for not sleeping in on Satuday by staying in bed until 1 pm. I had woken up at 11 am but then I started watching He's Just not that Into You which is such a great and cutsy movie. When Kev and I finally got up we got ready and left for the dog beach... It was a lot of fun like always but for some reason PeeWee was being super clingy and didnt really want to play with the other dogs. There were so many dogs there yesterday too... OMG there was this huge dog that was bigger than any dog I had ever seen. I am not even kidding, he looked like a bear. He was massive. There was also this gorgeous and sweet gray pitbull and the cutest little dog ever, a doxie/cocker spaniel mix.

After the beach we went walking around the town looking for a dog friendly place we could eat. We finally decided on Taco Surf. I had never eaten there before but OMG the food was soo yummy. Kev got some fish tacos which were delicious and I got carne asada. The flour tortillas tasted homemade and the carne asada was perfect. Even PeeWee got spoiled with this food as well.

That was my weekend, I ended up passing out early last night and didn't even get to see Sunday Night Programming on HBO...its the best. So now I missed 2 weekends in a row of it, anyone know where I can see reruns?

How was your weekend?

  1. I dislike all forms of seafood but those tacos do look delish!

Try tvduck.com for re-runs. There is a high probability you'll catch a virus, so I'd watch them on the work computer if I were you. :P

  9. Thanks for the sweet comment! And it sounds like you had a fantastic weekend, I love SD!! And congrats on the cowboy hat, I have turned my guy from a country 'hater' to a country 'liker', which is great bc it's my favorite and now we get to listen to it on road trips, and he's even been to a few country concerts with me!
